Building Bridges and Innovation Awards Initiated
An ongoing strategy of the College of Engineering Performance Plan is to encourage professional growth and development, and to reward outstanding accomplishments. In 2007, Dean Bud Baeslack instituted two new awards designed to recognize faculty members for their work in promoting excellence and technology in the College.
Graduate Education Open House Planned for Engineers and Architects
Engineers, architects and planners at the master's level will play an ever more critical role in economic competitiveness and business management in the future. To encourage students to consider graduate school, the first Ohio State Engineering and Architecture Graduate Program Open House will take place Saturday, October 6 in Knowlton Hall on the Columbus campus.

The new Engineering Education Innovation Center is the focal point for the College's innovative undergraduate instructional programs, and builds upon the College's outstanding reputation for and commitment to creative undergraduate education. The EEIC will strengthen our traditional engineering programs while investing in emerging fields that prepare our students for the workforce of the future.

New Knowlton School of Architecture Director Named
Ann Pendleton-Jullian, a Boston architect and faculty member at MIT, has been named director of the Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture and professor of architecture. A Cleveland native who has designed buildings around the globe, Pendleton-Jullian says she was attracted by KSA's international reputation, its faculty and the relationship it has with the Wexner Center for the Arts. In addition, she is intrigued by the fact that architecture, city and regional planning and landscape architecture are housed under one roof at Knowlton.
