Steel Bridge
The steel bridge competition allows students to use their engineering skills to design and construct a steel bridge using their knowledge of structural design and mechanics of materials. Students must load the bridge to its ultimate limit, with the most elegant and sturdy design winning.
- 2006 – Placed 1st in Regional Competition and advanced to National Competition. Place 27th at Nationals out of 45 teams.
- 2005 – 2nd in Regional and advanced to national competition, placed 25th at Nationals.
- 2004 – 2nd in Regional, Bridge exceeded loading requirement at nationals
- 2003 – 3rd overall Regional with 1st for Aesthetics
- 2002 – Bridge exceeded the 2500-lb load requirement by deflecting .17" over the allowable
