Student Project Team
Concrete Canoe
Students in this competition must design and build a working canoe entirely from concrete; then race the canoe against other universities in regional and national competition. The final product is a culmination of student ideas, workmanship, and applied consultation with working professionals in all areas of engineering.
- 2005 – Placed 3rd in regional competition
- 2004 The Best Damn Boat in the Land – 2nd overall at Regional, 2nd Final Product, 2nd Oral Presentation, 2nd Women’s Sprint, 2nd Women’s Endurance
- 2003 – 4th overall in regional
- 2002 – 3rd overall at Regional, 1st Design Paper
