Environmental Engineering Design Team
Students use their engineering skills to design and build an innovative treatment operation to solve an emerging environmental problem. Team members compete in the annual Waste Management and Education Research Consortium (WERC) Environmental Design Contest held in LasCruces, NM. Student teams compete head-on in four phases: laboratory demonstration of their technology, design report, oral presentation, and poster presentation. Sponsored by the Department of Energy (DOE) and Sandia National Laboratory.
- 2005 – Competed in the WERC Environmental Design Contest
- 2004 – First Place in Task – Arsenic Removal for Small Drinking Water Systems; Dr. Hal Walker received the Mike Berger Outstanding Advisor Award.
